So yesterday was my birthday and whereas this day is usually met with mixed emotions, (gratitude and anxiety) this birthday was different. Suddenly the idea of getting older or not being exactly where I thought I’d be by now isn’t as daunting anymore. Not because I don’t care but because I’m learning bit by bit that it’s not about the destination but about the little things I get to do everyday that bring me closer to the life I want. I’m learning to be content and happy where I am right now and that is giving me a lot of room to focus on the things that really matter and can take me to where I want to be. I am growing and that’s a wonderful thing!

Maybe that’s why I finally decided to take the plunge and do what I’ve wanted to do for the longest time; blogging!!!! I always meant to but always talked myself out of it because I convinced myself I had nothing of value to contribute. I now know better. It is terrifying to put myself out there but I’m also ridiculously happy every time I push the publish button and designing this blog has been and continues to be such fun and a labour of love for me. In the very least, it inspires me to do even more of the things I love. I want to use this blog to share and explore my experiences and ideas with like minded individuals and connect with other content creators. I want to connect with the readers and offer valuable content and learn from them as well. By starting this blog, I am taking a step towards living my best life and hopefully will inspire others to do the same.

Moral of the story is, if there’s something you want to do, just do it. You have only one life to live. Live your best one. Set measurable, achievable goals for yourself, share them with someone else for accountability and get to work.

In that spirit, I would like to share the goals I have set for my blog for the next three months:

  1. Create a 3 month editorial calendar by 30th November, 2018
  2. Publish one guest post on the blog  every month for the next 3 months.
  3. Get 50 more followers in 3 months.

Follow your dreams. Live your best life.

    1. Wow. This is one of the reasons I started blogging, to find like minded individuals. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I read yours and I could not agree more especially the part where you say, “what seems like something out of the blue was long overdue.”
